Rutgers Student Hospitalized After Suffering Serious Injuries in New Brunswick Residence

A Rutgers University student remains in critical condition following a serious incident inside a New Brunswick residence early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Rutgers Police Chief Kenneth Cop, officers responded to a disconnected 911 call at approximately 12:26 a.m. on October 15, 2025. 

When police arrived, they discovered a 19-year-old student unresponsive and suffering from severe injuries.

 

Emergency personnel transported the student to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he remains hospitalized in critical condition.

 

Investigators have not yet disclosed details surrounding how the student was injured. 

The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and Rutgers University Police Department are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
