Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief Kenneth Cop of the Rutgers University Police Department said a Rutgers’ student has been arrested and charged in connection with a plot to commit murder.

Izaia Bullock, 22, of Piscataway, was arrested and charged today with two counts of attempted murder in the first degree and two counts of conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree.

Bullock was charged after an investigation by the Rutgers University Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that on October 29, 2018, Bullock initiated a plot to murder the family members of an acquaintance. The intended victims are not affiliated with Rutgers University.

The investigation is active and continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Lauren Tredo of the Rutgers University Police Department at (848) 932-8025 or Detective Michael Connelly of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 745-3254.

Bullock will be held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center pending an initial court appearance in New Brunswick.

As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Bullock are merely accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
