A fatal two-car crash closed the westbound lanes of Route 78 in Hunterdon County early this morning.
Police were dispatched to Route 78 for a report of crash involving two vehicles at milepost 8.1 in Bethlehem around 6:30 a.m.
According to police, a Dodge Charger rear-ended a parked tractor-trailer killing the male driver of the Dodge. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not harmed.
Westbound lanes of Route 78 were closed following the crash but have since re-opened as of 7:30 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
The identity of the fatally injured is being withheld until next of kin is notified.
