Police officials in Newark are looking into the cause of a crash that occurred on a highway in the city Thursday afternoon.
According to police, the crash occurred in the northbound lane of Route 1&9 at Delancy Street just before 4 p.m.
Police say it appeared that the tractor-trailer was attempting to make a last-ditch effort to leave the Delancy Street exit and get back into the northbound lanes when the collision occurred.
There were non life-threatening injuries reported.
The official cause of the crash has not been determined.
