Rough Roads in the Rear View Mirror for NJ Jersey Cash 5 Winners

Paterson Vineland

Michael Williams of Paterson was a truck driver for many years until an injury left him unable to work. He faced some financial challenges due to his circumstances but that all changed on April 12 when he was the sole jackpot winner of the Jersey Cash 5 $1,112,555 jackpot.

Williams shared that he enjoyed many small Lottery wins over the years, but the ticket that he bought at retailer Gaby Mini Market on 223 17th Ave. in Paterson was a life-changer. After taking a moment to process the win, he called his mom, who couldn’t believe his good fortune.

When asked what he will do with his winnings, Williams said he plans on taking the money and buying a house down south where he can stretch his savings a little further.

Less than a week later, Eugene M., an auto mechanic from Vineland, bought a ticket for the April 18 Jersey Cash 5 drawing. The jackpot that evening reached $780,361.

Shortly after the drawing, Eugene checked the numbers on his computer. When he saw that all five numbers matched, he didn’t believe it. So he checked again, and again. After his fourth review of the matching numbers, he said to his wife, “Oh my God, we just won the Lottery.”

Eugene has been playing Lottery games for about 20 years. He typically plays Pick-3 and Pick-4 and participates in Jersey Cash 5 when the jackpot starts to climb.

Eugene’s lucky Lottery retailer is Todd's News Agency #2, 235 S. Delsea Dr., Vineland.

Eugene and his wife will use the money to pay off their bills and save for the college education of their two sons’ as well as their own retirement.
