Emergency responders are on the scene after reports of a roof collapse at a BJ’s Wholesale Club in Ocean Township late Monday morning, as torrential rain and widespread flooding continue to impact communities across New Jersey.

The incident was reported at approximately 11 a.m. at the BJ’s located along Route 35.

Preliminary reports indicate that at least two dozen people safely evacuated the store without injury.

Authorities have not yet reported any confirmed injuries, and the extent of the structural damage remains under investigation.

The reported collapse comes as Monmouth County continues to experience significant flooding caused by persistent heavy rainfall.

Officials with the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office are urging residents to avoid the area, warning that travel conditions remain extremely hazardous due to flooded roadways and ongoing emergency operations.

This is a developing story.
