Officers from the Essex County Sheriff's Department took three people into custody late last night after the trio conducted at least two strong armed robberies near Vailsburg Park.
Police responded to a robbery report that happened near the park at around 11p.m. where two victims told police that three suspects approached them and took personal possessions before fleeing the scene toward the Bradley Court housing complex.
Several units descended on the housing complex where they located and detained three suspects. After a positive identification of the suspects, Sheriff Officers took them into custody.
Sheriff Officers were also credited for arresting two other suspects Sunday night at the complex. after the pair committed robberies near the park.
There were no injuries reported.
