River Edge Man Caught Illegally Dumping Garbage in Newark

Police in Newark reports the arrest of Mr. James S. Biggar, 46, of River Edge, for an incident of illegal dumping today.

Police say at approximately 2:45 p.m., detectives assigned to the Illegal Dumping Task Force received a tip that Biggar was dumping old furniture and household trash onto a city lot.

When detectives arrived at the location, 261 Springfield Avenue, Biggar was arrested after a sanitation supervisor identified him as the suspect according to police.

Police charged Biggar one count of illegal dumping.

The Illegal Dumping Task Force has made over 40 arrests thus far this year.

These charges are merely accusations.

Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
