An officer en route to assist fellow officers was thrown from his motorcycle during the Washington Street crash, the department said.
Just before noon, Officer Thomas Turner was en route to assist detectives on Ninth Street, when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Fourth and Washington streets.
Turner was immedietly transported to Hoboken University Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
The identity of the other driver or details whether that driver was injured were available.
The crash remains under investigation.
