Police in Newark are on the search for suspects wanted for a violent home invasion robbery that left a resident injured in Newark's West Ward Wednesday evening.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to a home in the 300 block of Grove Street near 13th Avenue at approximately 4:50 p.m.
Upon arrival, they found a victim suffering a severe head injury at that location.
An initial investigation indicated that suspects forced entry into the residence and began to beat the victim in the head during the home invasion.
The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
Police have not reported any arrests at this time.
