Rescue Operation Underway for Person That Fell Down Elevator Shaft at New Brunswick Train Station

There is a a rescue operation underway at this time for a New York man that fell down a elevator shaft early this morning at a New Brunswick Train Station.

Reports of a man stuck between the walls of the shaft and the elevator car sent a large rescue contingency to the New Brunswick Station located on Albany Street shortly after 5:30 a.m.

Once a portion of the elevator was taken apart, the conscious 36-year-old man was extricated approximately within an hour.

The man was then transported to an area hospital with back and other unspecified injuries.

According to authorities, the man was allegedly leaning against the elevator door when it opened, causing him to fall approximately 30 feet.
