Police and Hawthorne school officials placed the high school on lockdown after several students were found under the influence of some type of CDS or alcohol.
At approximately 1:35 p.m., police and K-9 units arrived at the school to search for possible contraband after as many as three students were found in the building intoxicated.
The high school building is located at 160 Parmalee Road and was placed on lockdown during the search.
Officials have not said what substance the students took at this time.
Hawthorne Police and school officials will handle the investigation.
