There is an investigation underway in Carteret as police are on the waterfront after they found the body of an unidentified person a short time ago.
Local, county and state authorities arrived at the scene sometime before 7 p.m. after receiving reports of a body floating in the Arthur Kill.
The Coast Guard and Medical Examiner were notified.
Circumstances behind the findings were not released at this time.
