An investigation is underway into an armed robbery that resulted in an assault of a woman overnight in Newark.
Police responded to reports of the armed robbery that occurred in the area of North 6th Street and Davenport Ave. in the city's North Ward at around 8:30 p.m.
Upon arrival to the scene, a female victim reported being robbed by two black males of, an undisclosed amount of proceeds, then physically assaulted before the men fled on foot towards Heller Parkway.
The woman's injuries were not considered life-threatening.
It is not immediately clear if the suspects were in possession of a weapon.
