A reported robbery of a livery cab driver that took place early this morning in the city's Central Ward has police investigating.
Police were flagged down by a tax cab driver shortly before 5:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Somerset Street where the victim reported being robbed by a passenger for over $500 dollars.
The driver reported picking up the male suspect from the Newark International Airport where he was asked to be dropped off at an address in Newark's Central Ward. After reaching his destination, the man reportedly robbed the driver.
It is not immediately clear if the suspect produced a weapon.
