Reported Home Invasion Causes Injuries in Newark

A reported home invasion robbery that happened in Newark Tuesday evening has police investigating.

Cops were called to a residence in the 100 block of Avon Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. on reports of an home invasion with possible injuries.

Officers arriving to the scene located two victims suffering injuries after being assaulted by suspects that reportedly forced entry into their homes according to victim accounts.

According to the victims, two black males suspects forced their way into the residence and demanded personal possessions before physically assaulting them with what appeared to be a gun.

The suspects were wearing masks and dark clothing when they fled the scene in a light colored or silver Cadillac vehicle according to reports.

EMS transported at least one of the victims to University Hospital where non-life threatening injuries were reported.

There is an active investigation underway by Newark Police.
