Police in Elizabeth are investigating a carjacking that occurred today.
According to preliminary reports, officers responded to Burger King, located on the 600 block of North Avenue, for reports of a carjacking.
Police immediately began a search of the area for a Mercedes GL 450 with Indiana license plates that was taken from that location at gunpoint.
The vehicle was last seen heading towards Newark, occupied by two males.
There were no injuries immediately reported.
