Jersey City authorities are looking into a reported domestic violence incident that occurred at a location in Jersey City Monday morning.
Police were called to an address in the 100 block of Seaview Avenue to investigate a domestic violence incident at approximately 4:30 a.m.
Police say during the investigation, they located a woman who told them that her boyfriend beat her with a hammer and then attempted to stab her before she fled the scene.
According to reports, an argument between the pair escalated when boyfriend grabbing the hammer and swung it at the woman.
The victim was treated at Jersey City Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries while police investigate the incident.
Police have not reported an arrest at this time.
