Newark and much of the North Jersey region are waking up to another cool and refreshing morning as the new workweek begins, but temperatures are expected to climb into the upper 80s by the afternoon.
As of 4:30 a.m., it was 64 degrees on Munn Avenue and South Orange Avenue in Newark’s West Ward, with light breezes providing a pleasant start to the day.
Meteorologists say conditions will warm slightly compared to the gorgeous weekend weather, offering a comfortable transition into Monday.
The National Weather Service has noted moderate air quality due to Canadian wildfire haze, but it is not expected to impact the region significantly.
According to the forecast:
Today: Widespread haze after 7 a.m. Sunny, with a high near 90.
Tonight: Widespread haze before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 69.
