Good morning, New Jersey!
We hope you’re waking up feeling refreshed and ready to enjoy what is shaping up to be one of the nicest mornings we’ve had in quite some time.
It’s 69 degrees in downtown Newark early this morning, and after last week’s oppressive heat wave, the cool air and low humidity feel like a welcome taste of early fall.
Many residents likely slept with their windows open overnight, enjoying the comfortable breeze.
Temperatures across the state are even cooler in some locations. Early morning readings include 56 degrees in Sussex County, 63 in Morristown, 60 in Somerville, 69 in Toms River, and 62 degrees in parts of Passaic County.
A few light sprinkles moved through portions of Ocean County overnight, but rainfall was minimal and did little to interrupt an otherwise beautiful evening.
According to the National Weather Service, today will feature plenty of sunshine with a high near 81 degrees.
A light north wind between 3 and 7 mph will help keep humidity low, making for an exceptionally comfortable summer day.
Tonight, skies remain mostly clear with an overnight low around 64 degrees and calm winds, setting the stage for another pleasant evening.
