Red Bank Gas Station Robbery Leads to Pursuit, Arrests

A knife-point robbery that happened at a gas station in Red Bank resulted in a pursuit that had two people arrested in Middletown.

The incident began after two suspects (male and female) arrived at the Shell gas station located in the 300 block of Shrewsbury Avenue shortly before 11:30 p.m. and announced a robbery at knife point.

According to reports, several hundred dollars in proceeds and a box of Newport cigarettes were handed over to the suspects before they fled the scene in a dark grey Buick in an unknown direction.

Middletown police on routine patrol spotted a vehicle fitting the description of the suspects' car and began to follow when the vehicle sped off.

Officers eventually caught up with the vehicle in the 400 block of Red Hill Road and placed both suspects in custody.

There were no injuries reported.
