Newark

Newark and the North Jersey region are starting Wednesday with mild temperatures and a comfortable breeze, but residents should expect a wet and stormy morning before skies clear later in the day.

As of early morning, it was around 72 degrees across Newark, with overcast skies and light winds.

According to the National Weather Service, a band of steady rain and possible thunderstorms is moving east from Pennsylvania and will continue to spread across New Jersey through midmorning.

The heaviest rainfall is expected between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m., making umbrellas and rain gear a must for commuters.

Forecasters say today’s high will reach near 70 degrees, with southwest winds of 10 to 13 mph shifting north in the afternoon. Gusts could reach up to 24 mph.

By tonight, conditions will clear and temperatures will drop to around 47 degrees under a crisp fall sky.

Despite the soggy start, the day will end on a brighter note, setting the stage for cooler, clearer weather ahead.
