Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

My friends and family in Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to temperatures slightly above freezing this morning.AfWhile it's dry for now, don't forget to grab an umbrella, as rain is expected later in the day.

Our recent dry spell is set to conclude, with limited sunshine anticipated today.

The National Weather Service said to be prepared for a few sporadic showers as the afternoon progresses, but the steadier rain is forecasted to begin after sunset.

The day promises to be mild, but wet conditions will likely accompany the warmth. Today, there's a 30% chance of rain after 4 pm, with partly sunny skies and a high near 45 degrees.

NWS forecasters said winds will be calm initially, turning southeast at 5 to 8 mph in the morning.AdTonight, rain is likely, mainly after 7 pm. The skies will remain cloudy, with lows hovering around 40 degrees.

Remember to carry an umbrella to stay dry during these impending showers. Enjoy the mild temperatures, but remain prepared for the rainy conditions ahead.
