Good morning, New Jersey, and Happy Friday!
We made it to the end of the workweek, and we’re waking up to some damp conditions across Newark and the North Jersey region as we prepare for a chilly weekend.

If you’re heading out early this morning, at 4:30 a.m., temperatures are hovering around 62 degrees in downtown Newark, with some drizzle making for a damp start to the day.
It’s certainly a change from the warmer mornings we’ve enjoyed recently, and temperatures are expected to take a noticeable dip heading into the weekend.
Across North Jersey, we’re seeing some cooler readings, with Sussex County reporting temperatures around 46 degrees, Morristown at 55 and Paterson near 52.
Keep that umbrella handy because rain will be moving through the region, with another round of showers and possibly thunderstorms expected later today.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday’s forecast calls for showers before 11 a.m., followed by additional showers and a possible thunderstorm after 5 p.m.
Temperatures will actually climb to a high near 77 degrees before colder air moves into the region.
Southwest winds will range from 8 to 11 mph, with gusts reaching 23 mph. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent.
Friday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm are expected before 11 p.m., followed by a chance of additional rain overnight.
Temperatures will fall to around 49 degrees, with west winds of 8 to 13 mph and gusts reaching 24 mph.
So, Jersey, don’t let the relatively warm afternoon fool you. We’re heading toward a much cooler weekend, and those gusty winds will make the changing temperatures even more noticeable.
Whether you’re heading to work, dropping the kids off at school or getting an early start on your Friday, take your time on those wet roads.
We made it through another week, New Jersey!
Have a fantastic Friday, stay dry, and enjoy your weekend!
