Police in Newark are investigating a carjacking reported in the city Friday.
The early morning incident happened around 3:40 a.m. near the intersection of Clinton and Elizabeth avenues.
The victim reported that an armed suspect pointed a gun and took their white Range Rover near the intersection. The suspect then sped away from the scene.
Newark Police caught up with the suspects in the city’s South Ward and attempted to pull the driver over.
He refused and led police on a pursuit that resulted in a crash on the Pulaski Skyway near Route 1&9 around 5:10 a.m.
Police apprehended at least one suspect after a brief foot pursuit.
There were no serious physical injuries reported.
