Public's Assistance Sought in Moonachie Deadly Pedestrian Hit-and-Run

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Moonachie Police Department are requesting information from the public regarding a hit and run collision which resulted in a pedestrian sustaining fatal injuries.

According to a statement released by authorities, at approximately 5:50 am on Friday, January 5th, the Moonachie Police Department received a report of a pedestrian lying in the roadway on Route 46 East near the intersection of Industrial Avenue.

Emergency responders arriving at the scene observed a deceased male victim lying in the roadway.

Authorities said evidence showed that the victim’s injuries were consistent with a pedestrian struck by a car.

Medical personnel pronounced the victim, Brian P. Rossi 28, of Teaneck, dead at the scene according to authorities.

Police said evidence found at the scene indicated that more than one vehicle struck Rossi, then fled scene traveling eastbound on Route 46.
