Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office officials and the Paterson Police Department are investigating the death of a 32-year-old homeless man who was found unresponsive Friday afternoon in the city.
According to a statement released by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Officer-in-Charge Patrick Murray, officers were dispatched to the area of 140 Marshall Street at approximately 1:21 p.m. on February 27, 2026, following reports of an unresponsive male.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located the man inside a tent suffering from a severe injury to the back of his head.
Authorities said he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators have not released the identity of the victim and have not indicated whether foul play is suspected.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
