Police in Maywood, along with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, are searching for a suspect after yet another mail theft at the borough’s post office, the third such incident in just one week.
The latest burglary occurred around 3:30 a.m. at the post office located in the 100 block of West Pleasant Avenue.
Responding officers found that an unidentified suspect had gained access and fled with several pieces of mail before police arrived.
According to reports, the suspect was wearing a dark hoodie and gray pants and is believed to have escaped in a dark-colored Mercedes with a red sticker on the rear bumper.
The vehicle was last seen traveling westbound on West Pleasant Avenue.
Authorities are now working to determine whether the same individual is responsible for all three recent thefts and what may be driving the repeated targeting of this specific post office.
The investigation remains active, and officials urge anyone with information to contact Maywood Police or the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
