Police Seize $600 Worth of Drugs After Sussex County Traffic Stop; Three Arrested

The New Jersey State Police announced the arrest of Andrew Desher, 28, of Greentown, P.A., Matthew Williams, 25, of Blooming Grove, P.A., and Rylee Smyth, 25, of Hawley, P.A. following a traffic stop that yielded a seizures of $600 worth of drugs.

According to authorities, on Apr. 13th at 7:27 p.m., troopers stopped Desher for a traffic violation in Lafayette Township, Sussex County.

During the stop, troopers determined that Desher was under the influence and arrested him for DWI. After further investigation, troopers discovered 200 bags of heroin, crack cocaine, cocaine, suboxone, hypodermic needles, and drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle. The passengers, Williams and Smyth, were then arrested.

Authorities charged Andrew Desher, Matthew Williams, and Rylee Smyth with possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of crack cocaine, possession of prescription legend drugs, possesion of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic needles, and criminally under the influence. Desher was also charged with DWI.

Officials said Desher and Williams were released pending a future court date. Smyth was turned over to the Passaic County Sheriff's Office for an unrelated warrant.

Charges are mere accusations and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
