Police Seek Witnesses to Fatal 2022 Asbury Park Shooting

Monmouth County officials announced law enforcement officials are requesting information from anyone who may have witnessed a fatal shooting that took place in Asbury Park in late July 2022.

Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago said the Asbury Park Police responded to a report of gunfire on Thursday, July 28, 2022, shortly before 7:30 p.m., originating from the area of the 1600 block of Sewall Avenue.

Authorities say upon arrival, officers located 33-year-old Kyshon Washington-Walker of Shrewsbury.

Washington-walker had sustained multiple gunshot injuries, officials say.

According to officials, Washington-Walker was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Bureau and the Asbury Park Police continue to investigate the shooting, officials said.
