Police Seek Suspect in Hit-and-Run Accident in Newark

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G.Fragé requests the public’s help with identifying a suspect in connection with a hit and run accident on August 6.

 

According to officials, the accident occurred at approximately 8:57 p.m. at South Orange and Sanford avenues when the vehicle, possibly a grey Chevy Malibu, struck a pedestrian at that intersection.  

Newark officials say, the vehicle has rear bumper damage and a broken front windshield.

It fled southbound on Sanford Avenue and westbound on Fortuna Street.

The victim was treated at University Hospital
