Newark authorities request the public’s help identifying a female suspect in connection with an aggravated assault that occurred on Sunday, January 1, 2023.
According to Newark Police, at approximately 2:50 p.m., officers responded to Halsey Street and Market Street on a call of an aggravated assault.
Police say the suspect stole an item from a male victim, a vendor.
The victim chased the suspect, who sprayed him with pepper spray before fleeing on foot, heading northbound on Halsey Street.
The suspect is described as wearing a brown jacket, a red hat and having red hair.
