Newark authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a woman accused of stealing a package containing car parts from a residence in the city’s South Ward.

According to information released by the Newark Department of Public Safety, the theft occurred at approximately 1:05 p.m. on July 1 in the 100 block of Underwood Street.
Investigators said surveillance video captured a Black female suspect opening the gate to the victim’s property before entering the yard and taking a box containing approximately $400 worth of car parts.
The suspect was described as wearing a red or pink hairnet, a white T-shirt, black pants, and black shoes at the time of the incident.
