Newark authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man wanted in connection with an assault that occurred earlier this week in the city’s West Ward.
According to information released by the Newark Police Department, the incident took place on Tuesday, April 22, at approximately 10:56 a.m.
Surveillance video captured the suspect punching a victim in the face outside a Dunkin’ Donuts located in the 300 block of Springfield Avenue.
The suspect is described as a Black male, possibly in his early 40s to 50s.
He was seen wearing eyeglasses, a tan cap, an olive-colored button-up shirt, black jeans, and black sneakers at the time of the incident.
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. is urging anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to come forward.
