Police Seek the Public’s Help Identifying Assault Suspects in Newark

Authorities in Newark request the public’s help with identifying the suspects who assaulted a victim over a parking space on February 19, 2024.Ad Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé stated police responded to the incident, which occurred at approximately 11:40 p.m. in the 70 block of Garrison Street when the suspect pulled into a parking space.

According to officials, the suspects approached the victim’s vehicle and hit the driver’s side window, gesturing towards him to get out.

Officials said when the victim exited his vehicle, the suspects assaulted him, punching him in the eye as he tried to push them away from his vehicle.

Suspect #1, a male with a fair complexion and thin build, was wearing a dark-colored long-sleeve shirt, black pants, and white sneakers, officials say.

Authorities say suspect #2, also a male with a fair complexion and thin build, was wearing a red-colored hooded shirt, rip-style blue jeans, and black/red sneakers.
