Police Seek Publics' Help with Finding Suspect Involved in Highland Park Assault

Middlesex County officials announced today that an investigation is underway for the assault of a woman in Highland Park.

According to police, on August 24, at approximately 9:10 p.m., the victim contacted Highland Park Police Department to report that she was assaulted in the area of Benner Street and Second Avenue a short time prior.

She reported to the police that the suspect shoved her to the ground and held her down before fleeing the area.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, with black hair, approximately 6 feet tall, approximately 25 years of age, wearing a blue surgical mask and eyeglasses.

The investigation is active and continuing. Police are seeking information from anyone in the area who may have observed the suspect or possesses video relevant to the investigation.
