Authorities in Newark seek the public’s help in identifying the vehicle involved in the theft of a catalytic converter on Friday, June 9.
According to Newark Police, a victim reported that the catalytic converter to her vehicle, a red 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander, was stolen after parking her vehicle in the area of Speedway Avenue near Dassing Avenue between 1 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.
Police said detectives investigating this incident obtained surveillance camera footage of a silver Honda Accord with tinted windows driving next to the victim’s vehicle and remaining there for a few minutes before pulling away.
