Police Seek Driver in Hit-and-Run Incident on First Street in Newark

Newark police are looking for the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident that left a man injured on Friday evening.Ad The incident occurred on First Street just before 6 p.m. when a pedestrian was struck by what is believed to be a dark-colored Ford Edge.

Emergency services, including police and EMS, quickly responded to the scene to find the injured man.

However, the vehicle responsible for the collision had already fled the area. Despite the abrupt nature of the collision, the victim's injuries have been reported as non-life-threatening.

Authorities are now appealing to the public for any information that might lead to the driver's identification and apprehension.

The investigation remains active, with police working to gather evidence and witness accounts in order to bring the responsible party to justice.
