Police in Newark are actively searching for a suspect following a shots fired incident in the city’s West Ward Tuesday evening.
According to preliminary information, gunfire erupted around 6:10 p.m. in the 80s block of South 6th Street, prompting a heavy police response to the area.
When officers arrived, they located multiple shell casings and immediately secured the scene, taping off the area as part of the investigation.
Authorities conducted a search for potential victims, but no injuries were reported.
The suspect fled the scene and remains at large. The motive behind the shooting has not yet been determined.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
