Newark authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying a man accused of stealing personal belongings from a vehicle in the city’s South Ward.

According to a statement released by the Newark Department of Public Safety, the victim parked her vehicle in the 300 block of Renner Avenue at approximately 3 p.m. on June 22.
On June 23, surveillance video captured a Hispanic male entering the victim’s vehicle and removing several items from the trunk, officials said.
The suspect was described as wearing a gray sweater, gray sweatpants, a navy blue New York Yankees cap, and black sneakers with red soles. Investigators said he fled southbound on Goodwin Avenue after the theft.
