Police Search for Newark’s West Ward Assault Suspect

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating Tyeisha Jackson, 26, of Newark, who is wanted for an assault that occurred on December 13th.

According to police, at approximately 10:10 p.m., police received the report of a woman who had followed the vehicle of female victim she knows and rammed the victim’s car. During the incident, which began at 5:45 p.m. in the West Ward, a pedestrian was struck by the victim as she attempted to flee the suspect’s pursuit.

The suspect fled after damaging the victim’s vehicle in the area of Sherman Avenue and Alpine Street.

Detectives developed sufficient evidence to secure a warrant for the arrest of Tyeisha Jackson on charges of Simple Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Criminal Mischief.

While police are actively searching for Jackson, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing her from our streets.
