Police Search for Man Wanted for Pulling Knife on Dunkin Donuts Worker in Newark

Police in Newark seeks the public’s help with identifying an individual who pulled a knife on Dunkin Donuts employees and chased them out of the store on Oct 7th.

Officials say police officers responded at approximately 8:00 p.m. when they received a call about a suspicious man with a weapon at the fast-food eatery in the 1100 block of Broad Street.

When they arrived, an employee told officers that the suspect entered the store at 7:31 p.m. and pulled out a large knife and told her not to run.

The employee and another coworker, who used a ladder to ward of the suspect, ran out of the rear entrance.

Police say the suspect, captured on surveillance video, took a cell phone that belonged to one of the employees and followed them out of the store.

He is described as 5’6’’and 200 pounds with blue eyes. In the video footage, he was wearing a black hat, gray shirt, blue jeans and a black face mask

While detectives investigating this incident seeks the public’s help with identifying the suspect, Director Ambrose urges anyone with information about this individual to call the Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
