Police Search for Hit-and-Run Driver who Struck Pedestrian Near Park in Downtown Newark

Police in Newark are looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian in downtown Newark then fled the scene early Friday morning. 

According to police, at approximately 1 a.m., officers responded to reports of an injured person near 83 Lincoln Park. 

Upon arrival, police found the victim suffering non-life threatening injuries after a vehicle struck them near the park. 

Police say the vehicle fled the scene and was last observed heading southbound on Pennsylvania Avenue. 

There were no other injuries reported and the suspect is at large.
