Police are searching for a driver who fled after striking a pedestrian Sunday evening in Roselle, Union County.
According to preliminary information, emergency crews were called to the area of East 1st Avenue and Prospect Street shortly before 7 p.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
First responders found the victim suffering serious injuries. The pedestrian was transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment.
The vehicle involved reportedly left the scene before police arrived.
Authorities have not released a description of the vehicle or provided an update on the victim’s condition.
The incident remains under investigation.
