Police Search for Alleged Suspects Wanted for Gunpoint Robbery in Newark's West Ward

Police in Newark seeks the public’s help in identifying a male suspect and a woman who are wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred on Thursday, May 31st.

According to a statement released by police, shortly before 3:30 a.m., police responded to the 600-block of Irvington Avenue on a robbery call.

Police say three men were robbed at gunpoint by two suspects who wore masks.

The first suspect is described as 5’10” tall and approximately 250 lbs. He was wearing all black clothing while the remaining female suspect is described as 5’6” tall with a thin build and also wore all black clothing.

Police say detectives investigating this incident obtained video footage of a man fitting the description of one of the suspects along with a woman who is being sought for questioning in connection regarding this incident.

While police are actively searching for the suspect, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly identifying the pair and remove them from city streets.
