Police Recover Stolen Revolver After Reports of Shots Fired in Hillside

Officers investigating reports of shots fired Sunday evening recovered a stolen revolver.

According to authorities, Sunday at approximately 9 p.m., Hillside police received a call of shots fired in the area of 253 Conklin Avenue.

Upon arrival police found 12 males standing in front of the residence and two other men sitting in a Jeep Cherokee in the driveway.

Officials said police questioned the men and learned they had a dispute with females from across the street of 256 Conklin Avenue but no evidence of a shot being fired was found.

According to authorities, officers did recover a stolen silver .38 caliber revolver underneath the Jeep Cherokee, which had not been fired.

Officials said the gun was stolen out of Yorktown, Virginia on July 25, 2015.

Hillside detectives are continuing a full investigation which may result in future charges.

No arrests have been made at this time, police added.
