Police Quell Unruly Crowd Outside Met Life Stadium; State Trooper Injured

EMS has been requested to respond to the Met Life Stadium as a large unruly crowd outside of the stadium has over two dozen police units and special tactical forces on the scene at this time. 

Additional State Police units responded to a large fight that occurred  at around 7:30 p.m. outside the stadium. Upon arrival, the crowd pushed passed officers and jumped a fence where they reportedly entered several unrestricted areas according to reports. 

The crowd began to throw objects including bottles at officers who attempted to gain control of the crowd. A state police officer reportedly suffered a unspecified injury during the incident. 

The stadium is hosting a concert for a NYC radio station.

There are no reports of incidents inside the arena at this time. 

UPDATE 9:04 p.m. A State Trooper has been transported to the hospital under police escort. There are multiple people suffering various injuries at this time. 

UPDATE: 9:16 p.m. Troopers from the Netcong Station has arrived and are preparing OC grenades for deployment.  Crowds are continuing to enter unrestricted areas. 

UPDATE:  9:24 p.m. Small fights are beginning to break out inside the arena. Extra security has been called into the stadium. 

UPDATE 9:32 p.m. A lockdown of the arena has been ordered. OC gas is being deployed at this time.. 

UPDATE 9:37 p.m. All off-duty State Police Officers have been called to duty.
