Police Officer Struck by Car in Mount Arlington

A Mount Arlington officer suffered severe injuries after being struck by a car on in the city on Tuesday night.

According to preliminary reports, it happened at approximately 6:50 p.m. near 10 Howard Boulevard where a car struck the officer causing massive head injuries.

Police temporarily shut down the eastbound lanes of I-80 near mile marker 30.4 as officers escorted EMS to Morristown Hospital where doctors treated the officer. The officer is expected to survive.

The cause of the incident is in its early stages of the investigation.
