Police: 'No Evidence of Foul Play for Two Found Dead in Elizabeth'

Authorities in Elizabeth are continuing to investigate the findings of two people found dead in a neighborhood in the city this evening.

According to a statement released by city Spokeswoman Kelly Martins, police responded to an address on Fremont Place at approximately 5:15 p.m. to investigate suspicious activities.

Spokeswoman Martins said units arrived at the scene and found two unconscious and unresponsive persons who medical staff pronounced dead at that location.

According to Spokeswoman Martins, a preliminary investigation indicated that there are no outward signs of foul play, but Martins said that there was evidence of drugs at the scene.

The incident remains under an active and ongoing investigation according to Spokeswoman Martins.
