Police in Newark Search for Suspect Who Stole Two Surveillance Cameras

Newark Police officials request the public’s help with identifying a suspect who was captured on surveillance video, removing two surveillance cameras from a drugstore on July 27.

According to police, officers responded to a report about a theft that occurred at approximately 11:13 p.m. at Sanford Pharmacy, located in the 1000 block of South Orange Avenue. 

The suspect, a Black male with dreadlocks, ripped both cameras from the side of the business and fled in an unknown direction. 

Police said that he was wearing a white T-shirt, black Adidas pants, a red bucket hat, black slides footwear, and a black backpack.

Newark Police officials urge anyone with information about the suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). 

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
